A strategic expansion brings everything closer together so guests can be in the center of all the fun.

Aktion Parks Orlando Watersports Complex, a 48-acre site in Orlando Florida, is one of the largest cable wakeboarding parks in the U.S., and we are “stoked” to be providing programming, master planning, architecture, and interior design services for this multi-million-dollar expansion and renovation. The goal of the expansion is not only to draw more potential shredders to this rapidly expanding sport of cable wakeboarding, but also to create a family-friendly environment where everyone can feel welcome and enjoy the thrill of watersports.

The solution? Place the guest in the center of all the fun. We developed a master plan that reconfigures the cable park activities and amenities so that everything is moved closer together, creating a more immersive and interactive guest experience that also works operationally.

Phase 1 of the project was completed in early 2023 and now all the park amenities center around an extensive beach with lounge chairs and outdoor pavilions for guests to relax and watch friends and family show off their wakeboarding skills on the lake. Construction included relocating the aquapark to be right in front of the beach, as well as a new boathouse and pier. The professional and amateur cable park starting areas were also redesigned to optimize the experience and accessibility for riders.

Phase 2 will begin in Fall 2023, which will focus on renovations to streamline the guest admissions process, retail space expansion, new party rooms, the renovation of a covered observation deck for dining, and a new kitchen to provide food service for guests. Phase 2 will be complete and open for guests in Spring 2024.

Completed: Phase I - Early 2023
Anticipated Completion: Phase II - Spring 2024
