An office space designed to showcase structure, durability, and stability.
For BBM Structural Engineers, moving to a new office space provided the opportunity to tell their brand story.
Structural engineering is the heart and backbone of all structures small or large. Structural engineers play an important role in all stages of design and construction to ensure that the structure can be built with durability and stability. In collaboration with the BBM leadership team, we incorporated three custom-made structural features that would showcase their aptitude for structural steel design.
The first, a tilt-up concrete reception desk is a nod to their extensive portfolio of tilt-up construction projects. A chevron steel bracing set in front of an enlarged project drawing with their own calculation notes offers a close-up view of the robust structures they apply in their buildings. And finally, a custom designed conference table also crafted in steel and topped with sleek pieces of glass perfectly ties in with other elements of the space. While the primary intent of these elements was to showcase what the firm designs as structural engineers, it also provides an opportunity to have the steel elements serve as a learning tool for younger engineers and clients visiting the office.
The result is a one-of-a-kind office space that clearly defines BBM’s brand and the integral role they play in the architectural process. Without a doubt, this office design will withstand the test of time.
